Am I asking too much?

Ok, I don't normally slam anyone for no reason.  So this post is going to be about frustration......grrrrrrr!

I ordered The Encyclopedia of Tunisian Crochet from chezcrochet.com on May 6th.  I have yet to receive my copy of the book!!  I understand that Arnie has health problems.  I understand that there is probably a large number of orders that she has received.  But come on!!!!  It has been almost 3 months!!

My friend ordered her book a week after I did and after some prodding she got her book more than a week ago.  I don't want to be a b*&^h about this but I want what I paid for.  This woman has had my $30.20 since the beginning of may and has given me nothing but excuses ever since.  I used Paypal to pay her and I only had 45 days to dispute the payment.  I am now screwed out the money and I don't see myself receiving the book anytime soon.

My last resort is to call her home number and ask when I will receive my book.  I don't want to do this because I don't like bothering people at their personal address with a matter that pertains to their business.

What does a girl have to do to get what she paid for??????

Jett... supposedly taking a nap

So Jett was sent upstairs to take a nap.  I am at work, so Paston and Browyn are sitting downstairs watching tv when they hear their little brother crying.  It is not his ordinary cry so Paston runs upstairs to see what is wrong.  Paston gets to the top of the stairs and starts laughing.........which prompted Browyn to bring her camera.  The following pictures are of Jett with his favorite stuffed animal Kokiri in a very uncomfortable situation.  Kokiri is Korean for elephant.
It turns out Jett took his shirt off and decided to put it on Kokiri.  He then slipped into the shirt himself and put Kokiri's legs in his pants.  After accomplishing this feat, he could not get out of the shirt.
Once he saw the camera he was quite vexed and didn't want his picture taken....AT ALL!!  I hope you enjoy the antics of my 5 year-old son......I know I had a good laugh!!!

Louisville Kentucky.....

I have had the greatest time here in Kentucky!  I met my husband down here after taking my first train ride!!  What a cool trip!  We attended the Mid American Truck Show.  There is no way in hell you could see everything in the three days that they run it.  I have met tons of amazing drivers from all different companies and even got to party on the liftgate of Rob's truck.  It has been exhausting but the ultimate in fun.  Now I get to hop a bus at midnight and catch a train from Indianapolis to Chicago and another from Chicago home.
I have had so much fun, but I sure miss the kids.

A Long and Fun Weekend

Holy Cats!!  I had just the best weekend ever!  I went to Stevens Point WI and saw a fantastic band called Altered State www.alteredstaterocks.com  The drummer, Jim, is a high school classmate of mine and I just had to see what his band was all about.  They are amazing!
I spent some time with other high school classmates and dealt with a very drunk ex-husband.  I am just glad that I don't have to put up with that anymore!
And then to top off such a great weekend, I came home to a clean house.......yes, A CLEAN HOUSE!!!  What could a mom like me have done in a past life to deserve that?  I have some fantastic kids and I thank them for doing such a good job taking care of the house while I was gone.

Lady Sparrow Scarf-test pattern

I liked the pattern so much I just had to knit it again!!  So here it is in Cascade 220!

I finished this scarf in less than 3 days.  It went so quickly and looks so elegant even though it is a very simple pattern.  Next time I will make sure that I use two balls of the same yarn when it is variegated.  I didn't really like the join in the center of the scarf.

I'm done, I'm done!!!

I got it done and I am so happy with it.  It didn't even take that much to get all the stripes to match in certain places.  It took about 23 hours and about 1 1/2 balls of Lang Yarn's JaWool.  Now I am off to the next project.  I think I need to design a new pattern or two.  It is just too much fun!!

The felted bowing ball bag.....

My sister Julie is in for a big surprise!!  I finished her bag and then decided to make it just a little more special.  I had her bowling team's name put on it.  Sue at Precision Stitch and Ink here in Tomah did her best considering it was the first time she had done any stitching on a felted piece.  It is a little off-center but I could give a hoot.  It turned out awesome!!

Jettisms........my little boy!

Ok, so I guess I should give a little background so everyone understands what I am talking about.  I have three children.  My two oldest are 17 and 16.  My youngest is 5 and his name is Jett.  Having my children so far apart was not exactly planned but everyone of them is a blessing and I would never change the choices that I made.  That being said, I want to share with you how a 5 year-old processes everyday things.

Jett asked me what it means to get 'paid'.  I explained that if the neighbor says,"If you shovel my sidewalk, I will pay you $10."  You will then be 'paid' $10 because you did a service for someone.  I was driving the car while explaining this to Jett.  When I looked back at him to make sure that he understood I noticed that his shoulder strap was not secured in his car seat.  I then told him to try and fix the problem himself.  He looked at me with those bright, and slightly mischievous eyes, and ask me "So, how much are you going to pay me?"  Lesson assimilated!  What a smart alack!!

And so it begins....

I have to admit, I have never been a big fan of blogging.  At first it seemed like a cheesy way for some people to brag themselves up or complain about everything under the sun.  But now I see it as a way to express myself when there is no one listening.  There are times when I feel so accomplished and I tell someone how cool my latest knitting project looks and all they can do is nod their head and say "That's cool" but I know they aren't listening.  So here is a way for me to get it all out...and share what I want....and I don't care if it gets read.  I just know that I feel better when I get it out of my head.
So this blog will consist of my accomplishments, my life, my children,......I guess just about anything.  I can see that the sky is the limit...so here goes!
